Beer braised meatballs

Preheat oven to 200c.

Combine 2kg of beef mince, 1/4 C breadcrumbs, 2 eggs, 1 large chopped onion, ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, 2 minced garlic cloves, salt & pepper together in a large bowl and shape into meatballs.

Place on a greased rack and bake for 10 minutes. 

Combine 350ml lager, 2 & a ½ cups of a tomato based sauce, 2 tbsp tomato paste, ½ cup brown sugar in a large pot and bring to the boil.

Add meatballs and reduce heat.

Cover and simmer for 20-30minutes, stirring occasionally.
